Job Description - Housekeeping Supervisor

JOB PURPOSE
The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that the standards of cleanliness are met. They assign tasks, inspect work to ensure it's up to standard, and provide training on how to best handle customers' requests and the standard of hygiene and cleanliness for the Hotel and Casino.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
• They assign duties accordingly while inspecting all aspects to make sure everything meets industry standards and keeps an eye on customer satisfaction.
• Train housekeepers on cleaning and maintenance tasks
• Oversee staff on a daily basis
• Check rooms and common areas, including stairways and lounge areas, for cleanliness
• Schedule shifts and arrange for replacements in cases of absence
• Establish and educate staff on cleanliness, tidiness and hygiene standards
• Motivate team members and resolve any issues that occur on the job
• Respond to customer complaints and special requests
• Monitor and replenish cleaning products stock including floor cleaner, bleach and rubber gloves
• Participate in large cleaning projects as required
• Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation policies in all areas
• Performs all other job related duties as required

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
• Fluent in English, Dutch, Spanish and Papiamentu
• 1-3 years of experience in the hospitality sector
• Work experience as a Housekeeping Supervisor or similar role
• Hands-on experience with cleaning and maintenance tasks for large organizations
• Ability to use industrial cleaning equipment and products
• Excellent organizational and team management skills
• Stamina to handle the physical demands of the job
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends
• High school diploma is a plus

Job Description - Hotel Housekeeper

JOB PURPOSE
Our housekeepers are responsible for cleaning rooms and common areas, and reporting any safety hazards to their supervisor. They are responsible for taking care of the building’s general cleanliness to provide tidy and sanitary amenities to guests and colleagues. Their duties include cleaning floors, making beds and dusting surfaces throughout the building.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
•       Provide basic housekeeping duties including changing the sheets, changing and arranging the towels, restocking lavatory supplies, vacuuming, dusting and rearranging the room after guests checkout.
•       Report and return any guest properties found in the rooms while rendering service and do a walk through, checking if the customer forgot any items within 30 mins after they checkout.
•       Report cases of property damage in commercial spaces to supervisor.
•       Clean, disinfect and store all equipment at the end of the shift.
•       Maintain a positive relationship with employees and guests.
•       Quickly respond to calls for housekeeping problems, such as spills and broken glass
•       Collect and remove trash and debris
•       Clean upholstered furniture
•       Perform detailed deep cleans when required
•       Maintain general cleanliness of public spaces throughout the shift
•       Ensure guest elevator doors, tracks, and surrounding area are clean and free of debris, and elevator signs and call buttons plates are smudge-free
•       Dispose of boxes and trash left in service elevator area
•       Performs all other job related duties as required

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
•       High school diploma or equivalent preferred
•       Can speak Dutch, Papiamentu, English and Spanish

OTHER REQUIREMENTS        
•       Ability to take direction, as well as self-motivate to accomplish the needs of the facility
•       Maintain courteous and effective working relationships with others, as well as guests
•       Must present a well-groomed appearance
•       Knowledge of cleaning agents or dilutions, and proper equipment use preferred
•       Must be a team player
•       Demonstrates a sense of urgency while performing tasks and meeting deadlines
•       Must be able to stoop, kneel, bend, twist, turn, push, pull, grasp objects
•       Must be able to work varied shifts, weekends and holidays as needed
